Judith Ann
Ligon
Jul 20, 1940 — Sep 29, 2024
Judith Ann Ligon passed away peacefully on September 29, 2024 in Dallas, Texas at the age on 84. Judith was born on July 20, 1940, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Joe Wright Sr. of Illinois and Ann Cech Wright of Czechoslovakia. She grew up in Tulsa with older brother, Joe Wright and younger sister, Susie Hetherington. Judith attended Colorado University and received a degree in Business from the University of Tulsa.
Judith married Ed Ligon Jr. in Tulsa and moved to Little Rock, Arkansas to expand the Ligon family business, Orbit Valve Company. She was a loving wife, homemaker and stay-at-home mother of three children, Lisa Ligon, Shannon Ligon Graham and Chris Ligon. Spending time on the houseboat on Lake Ouachita and later at the house on Lake Hamilton created many wonderful family memories.
Judith was a member of the Junior League of Little Rock, Fellowship Bible Church and St. Andrews Church. She enjoyed Bible studies and church community groups. Judith had a true heart for Jesus and used her gifts to help others.
In the late 90's, when Ed retired, Judith and Ed formed a charitable organization called the Kingdom Fund, which she helped manage. She also served as a board member at Fellowship Associates. When their children were grown, Judith and Ed enjoyed spending summers in Crested Butte, Colorado and inviting friends and family to stay with them in their home.
Judith moved to Dallas, Texas after her husband's passing to be near her daughter Shannon. She enjoyed nine years living at Edgemere and spending time with family and friends.
Judith enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. Her greatest joy was her six grandchildren: Tanner, Spencer, Ashley, Ryan, Michael and Sabrina. She had many fun vacations with her grandkids and loved reading to them, talking with them and having great "adventures" together. Several trips were to the beach in Gulf Shores, some to Crested Butte, and one great trip to Disney World and a Disney cruise. Judith was not afraid of death, rather viewed it as a new beginning. Judith would like to be remembered by "I loved the Lord and my family"
Judith's family, Lisa, Shannon and Chris along with Vicki and Jenny and all the grandkids: Tanner, Spencer (and wife Alice), Ashely, Ryan, Michael and Sabrina will greatly miss her love, kindness and generosity.
A private service will be held with family.
