Obituary

June Helena (Leubner) Rentmeester was born on June 22,1938 at Memorial Hospital in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She passed from this life at age 86, at Guardian Angels Home on May 22, 2025.

June lived in Sheboygan in her early years, moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and finally residing in Richardson, Texas with her husband, John, of 57 years.

June majored in Education and Biology, receiving her teacher's degree at University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. June attended Business College, and took extended classes at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

June worked at Wright Public School in Milwaukee as a PE teacher and later as a guidance counselor. She continued to teach PE as a volunteer at Calvary Lutheran School in Dallas.

June was involved in numerous organizations; Newcomers, Summer Song, several Bridge and Mahjong groups. She was involved with politics. June worked the voting polls, was a chairwoman of the Dallas County Ballot Board, and was active in the Texas Federation of Republican Women. June also was a delegate for the Republican National Convention held in Texas and New York.

June received several awards as an All-Star Basketball player, Teacher of the Times, and a certificate for her volunteer work with the church.

June had many interests. She enjoyed traveling, music, nature, swimming, and crossword puzzles. June was especially passionate about sports (Packers, Cowboys, and the NCAA March Madness), and served in the Republican Party.

June and John traveled to all of the continents except Antarctica, but took a cruise to the North end of the Arctic. They took over sixty cruises, and formed several lasting friendships with other travelers.

Survivors include her brother-in-law Ray Rentmeester, nephews Mark and Richard Frenkel, and niece Margery Wheeler. June was preceded in death by her husband, John Rentmeester, and her sister, Marian Frenkel.

June will be remembered as a strong-willed, hardworking, and passionate advocate. Her greatest love was for her faith, family, friends, and country. Definitely, a life well lived.
