Obituary

Karen Sue Kriner, 77, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Born on February 3, 1947, in McAlester, Oklahoma, she was the beloved daughter of GW and Marie Standridge of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Throughout her life, Karen lived around the world, including in Italy, Australia, across the Midwest, Duncan, Oklahoma, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Karen dedicated much of her life to Christian Education, especially working with elementary school children. She had a sharp sense of humor and never shied from a quick joke or quip, bringing laughter and joy to everyone she encountered.

Her love of arts and crafts showcased her creativity, and her passion for the rose-pink color was reflected in her clothing, home décor, anything at all. A proud member of the Choctaw Nation, Karen took great interest in her tribe's history in Oklahoma. Her love for genealogy led her to research both sides of her family tree, exploring the rich history of her Native American ancestors tracing them back from Arkansas to Europe.

Karen's sister, Trish Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma, remembers her as "my beautiful blonde sister, so talented in everything she did and hilariously funny. I was so jealous of her being so outgoing and popular because I was so painfully shy. I will miss her!"

Karen is also survived by her son, Stephen Wilkinson of Plano, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Wilkinson and Rev. Charles Kriner.

As per her wishes, Karen will be cremated, and the family will hold a small gathering in her memory in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
