Karen Michelle Shaw, born on September 23, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, just a few days shy of her 68th birthday. Karen was a lifelong resident of Dallas, where she was known and loved for her vibrant red hair, her warm personality, and her unwavering kindness.
For nearly 30 years, Karen dedicated her career to the June Shelton School, where she served as a respected administrator. Her commitment to the school and its community touched countless lives, and she will be remembered for her dedication and the positive impact she made over the decades.
Karen had a wonderful love of life's simple pleasures. She was known for her deep affection for dogs and could often be found with cheese and crackers on hand, ready to share a snack and a smile. Her warmth and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Karen is survived by her daughter, Annie Roche, her son, Paul Shaw, and her four beloved grandsons, Bryn Roche, Albert Shaw, Henry Shaw, and JP Shaw, who all brought immense joy to her life.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Karen's life will be held on Tuesday, October 7th, at 6 p.m. at the June Shelton School in Dallas, Texas. Friends, family, and former colleagues are warmly invited to attend and share their memories of a remarkable woman whose legacy of kindness will live on. A reception will follow with lots of Diet Dr. Pepper and cheese. People are encouraged to wear red or bright colors to honor Karen's colorful personality.
