Katie Thornburg Tucker, 88 years old, surrounded by loved ones, went home to the Lord on December 1, 2025.

Katie was born on May 5,1937 in Lenoir, North Carolina. She also lived in Charlotte, North Carolina and Dallas, Texas. Her life was filled with joy and a devotion to the Lord and her family. She loved walking, traveling, classical music and reading.

Survivors include her daughter, Shawn Patrice Tucker Pierce and her husband, Wyman Pierce of Dallas, Texas, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Zora Cox Thornburg, her father, Johnny Cox, and her beloved husband of 53 years, William (Tuck) Tucker.

A Celebration of life will be held in both Dallas, Texas at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on January 10th at 12:30pm at 5100 Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas and in Charlotte, North Carolina at St. Peter's Catholic Church at 11:00am, January 24th, 507 S. Tryon Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.
