Kay Ellen
Wilson
Aug 1, 1937 — Jan 12, 2025
Kay Wilson passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, following complications from emphysema.
Born on August 1, 1937, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Roland Wesley (née Shaw) Keith and Frankie Doris Smith. When Kay was seven, her family relocated to University Park (Dallas), Texas, where she graduated from Highland Park High School in 1955.
At 19, Kay fulfilled her dream of becoming a flight attendant, proudly flying with Braniff International. In 1957, she married Mark Anthony McCann, Jr., and devoted herself to raising their four children. After their divorce in 1973, Kay found joy and success in public relations, managing a showroom at the Dallas Apparel Mart, and traveling as a sales representative in both the fashion and gift markets.
Kay relished her retirement years, immersing herself in her passions for cooking, baking, gardening, reading, knitting, and needlepoint. She was an active member of the Richardson Woman's Club for eleven years.
Kay is predeceased by her parents and her son, Neil Keith McCann.
Surviving her are daughter Marianne Jones (Rob), her twins Mark A. McCann III (Regina) and Stacey Holt (Tracy Johnson), as well as nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Kay had requested a private family service at graveside.
In honor of her memory, donations may be made to Operation Kindness, an organization close to her heart.
