Obituary

Keith Freeman went home to be with the Lord February 7, 2025 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Keith was born March 9, 1965 to Lloyd Freeman and Sylvia Freeman Edgington. He was a lifelong resident of Irving, having moved when he was six months old. Keith graduated from MacArthur High School. Keith married Sheila DeClue on June 20, 1986. Keith served with teens in his daughter's youth group and often helped Sheila with children's ministry activities. Over their many years of marriage, Keith and Sheila shared a passion for helping children in difficult places and fostered over 70 children in their home, adopting four of them to become their own.

Keith worked at Central Freight Lines for 30 years and US Roads for 10 years. Along with being a dedicated worker, Keith also enjoyed rodeo, monster trucks and building things. Keith and Sheila have been active members of MacArthur Blvd. Baptist Church since 2012. Keith's beard, love for children, and gentle disposition made him the perfect Santa Clause, a role he filled often during the Christmas season for events and gatherings.

Keith was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Freeman; step-dad, Bobby Joe Edgington; and mother-in-law, Della Jean DeClue. He is survived by his wife, Sheila DeClue Freeman; children Joy Freeman Lanford and husband Todd, Elizabeth Freeman Ramos and husband Gabe, Ryan Freeman and wife Amanda, Brittany Freeman Jackson and husband Steven, and Devan Freeman and fiancé Payton; mother, Sylvia Freeman Edgington; step-mother, Paula Freeman, father-in-law, Robert DeClue; Sister, Keyla Freeman Cohen; brothers, Michael Scott Freeman, and Daniel Freeman; brother-in-laws, William Walker and Shawn DeClue; step-sisters, Pat Hilburn and Alexis Horton; many nieces and nephews; and eight grandchildren, Ava, Austin, Kynnleigh, Hayden, Aurora, Hunter, Andrew, and Linkin.
