Obituary

Kenneth was a native of Mobile, Alabama, and a resident of Texarkana, Texas. He was born on June 28, 1964 to the late Mr. and Mrs. David E. and Lavada (Byrd) Edwards. Kenneth was largely raised by his grandmother, Mrs. Dessie Byrd. He departed this life on Saturday, December 27, 2025.

Kenneth was educated in the Mobile County School System and graduated from Lillie B, Williamson High School. Afterwards, he felt the Lord's calling on his life to become a minister of the gospel.

Kenneth met the love of his life, Connie (Kirksey) Edwards, and they were married in 1988. From this union they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Aminah and Anikka. Together they served the Lord until Connie's death in September 2021.

In 1999, he moved to Texas where he attended Southwestern Adventist University, and in 2003 he received a Bachelors Degree in Theology. Kenneth Pastored in the states of Louisiana and Texas for more than 13 years. He was the Pastor at Memorial SDA Church in Mansfield, Louisiana, and Coushatta First SDA Church in Coushatta, Louisiana. and Jefferson Central SDA Church in Jefferson, Texas, and Bethel SDA Church in Texarkana, Texas.

Kenneth was a loving pastor, husband, father, Paw Paw, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He never met a stranger and could often be found laughing and playing around with anyone he would encounter. One of his hobbies included looking at luxury cars. He was always excited when speaking to his family and friends-especially his grandchildren. His energy brought so much love and life to everyone and he will be dearly missed.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife Connie. He leaves to cherish his memory two loving daughters: Aminah (Femi) Edwards and Anikka Edwards, two grandchildren, Malachi A. Wilson and Maddison F. Edwards.

Also left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted siblings. His twin sister Kathryn Renee Edwards, his only brother Pastor David (Delfrey-Ann) Edwards, Jr., Dr. Brenda (Barry) King, Rhonda Herrine, Elder Gloria Jones, Ashley Edwards and Lesley Edwards, his oldest sister Constance Edwards preceded him in death in 2018. A devoted aunt Peggy Walters, uncles John, Anthony, Timothy (Joanna), and James Franks (deceased), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, pastoral colleagues, church members and friends.
