Bob Knott, Jr. was born December 5, 1945 in Yazoo City, MS. He was the first born of Bob and Dorothy Knott. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Patti; daughters, Missie (Scott) Carra, and Ellie Knott. Other family members include sister, Cissy (Doug) May, and brother, Lloyd (Lisa) Knott; stepdaughters, Nora (Will) Renthal, Robin (Richie) Margolin, and stepson Marvin Edwards (Kate Bowers). The grandchildren are Meredith and Allison Carra; Amber and Sawyer Renthal. Bob graduated from Yazoo City High School and received bachelors and masters degrees from Mississippi State University. He achieved the rank of Master Mason. Before retiring, he was the Assistant Director of the Garland Independent School Food Service. After joining Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in 1994, Bob was an active member of the Koinonia Sunday School class. Within the church, he served in many capacities including the Evangelism Committee, instructor for Disciple Bible Class, and a variety of Sunday School offices. He enjoyed flipping burgers at the Austin Street Shelter. Bob also served as President of the Gideons in the Dallas Central Camp. Bob Knott's Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Lover's Lane United Methodist Church, 9200 Inwood Road, Dallas, TX 75220. Please enter the Main Sanctuary (Entrances A & C). Visitation and a "Bring a Dish Luncheon" will occur following the service. BBQ meats, potato salad and green beans will be provided. Food items may be dropped off prior to the service in Watson Hall located at the rear of the Sanctuary. Bobs family would like to thank you for your love and support!
