A point of light in the world went out with the passing of Le Thi Cuc "Diane" Sampey on October 10, 2022. She was a source of joy to those that knew her. She did everything from the heart and never lost her sense of wonder in the discovery of the world around her and in those whose life journeys were part of her own. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael Sampey, two sons, Alain and Henry, and six grandchildren, Anthony, Steven, Jimmy, Johnny, Larissa, and Melissa. 'Diane' was of Chinese and Spanish descent, the tenth of fourteen children. She is also survived by her sister, Le Thi Thu and dozens nephews and nieces around the world. She will be missed, but to those that knew her, all they need to do is look inside themselves to remember the difference she made in their lives and what a special lady she truly was. A memorial service will be held in Hawaii as soon it becomes practical for family members to attend. It is where her and Michael first met and were married. It is the place she always wanted to return to live out her days.
