Cara Lynn Leg, of Frisco, Texas, died on December 13, 2013. Cara was born in 1932 in Crowley, Louisiana to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lyons. She was preceded in death by her husband C. M. Leg, her parents, and a brother, C. C. Lyons. She is survived by her beloved daughter Marty (Mauria) Lynn Leg of Frisco, and a brother, Harold Lyons, also of Frisco, and an extended family of cousins. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Louisiana - Lafayette, and her Master's Degree from McNeese University, Lake Charles, Louisiana. Post graduate studies were done at the University of Houston and University of Wisconsin. Her early professional years were spent teaching elementary grades. And though she was appointed to a position at the university level later in her career, Cara never lost her abiding love for children. It was a sustained, gentle part of her life. She retired from the University of Louisiana - Lafayette, College of Education, in 1980, when it was known as the University of Southwestern Louisiana. While there Cara, on the faculty, was an Educational Consultant, acting as liaison between the state department of education and surrounding school districts. She also served as an Educational Diagnostician in the Special Education Department. After her retirement, Cara and her husband moved to Horseshoe Bay, Texas. Cara was instrumental in founding the Horseshoe Bay Women's Golf Association. She was its first president, and watched it grow to become one of the largest and most successful women's golf associations in Texas. Cara moved to Frisco in 2000 to be near her daughter, and quickly became active in the community. She was a member of the Frisco Chorale, the Frisco Republican Party, and Stonebriar Community Church Choir. Cara was also a Frisco Library Foundation Member. Cara was a freelance writer who was often quoted in the Dallas Morning News and the Washington Times. She published magazine articles and a children's book, "The Feu Follet".
