Leo Thomas Burwinkel, 67, of Mckinney, TX, passed away on February 6th, 2025.

Tom was born on January 30th, 1958, to Henry and Velma Burwinkel in Quincy, IL. He graduated from Seymour High School in 1976.

After graduation, he landed his first job at Colt Industries as a salesman.

In 1976, he met Kimberly Hickerson, and they wed on October 28, 1978, going on to have five children, Hollie, Megan, Kylee, Danyel, and Bret.

Tom was working at CleanUpt Services and enjoyed being outdoors. He enjoyed hot air balloons, fishing, baking, softball, baseball, and the Texas Rangers. He enjoyed spoiling and spending time with his 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild as much as possible.

Tom is predeceased in death by his parents, brother Butch Burwinkel, and sister Janice Henry.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Burwinkel; his brother, Larry Burwinkel and wife Cheryl; children Hollie Karbowski and husband Dennis, Megan Billiot, Kylee Micek and husband Brandon, Danyel O'Bryan and husband Chris, and Bret Burwinkel, as well as his 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

There will be Celebration of Life at Messiah Lutheran Church located at 1801 W Plano Parkway, Plano, TX 75075, Wednesday, February 12,2025 at 11:00am. A luncheon at the church will follow.
