Linda
Cox
Sep 13, 1939 — Oct 28, 2025
With deep love and profound respect, we announce the passing of Linda Lee Clock Cox, a compassionate and generous spirit, on October 28, 2025. Born on September 13, 1939, in Tulsa, OK, Linda moved to Oregon where she was raised and later made Dallas, Texas her home, where she lived a life steeped in kindness and thoughtfulness.
Linda was a quiet female trailblazer in lay pastoral roles, embodying the very essence of a life of faith. Her commitment to pastoral care and her dedication as a teacher left an indelible mark on those she interacted with. Her accomplishments were many, but most notably, she was a proud holder of both a Master of Education and a Master of Divinity advanced degree. Linda was an ardent volunteer, her generous spirit always evident in her actions. Her love of family and for the Presbyterian Village North community was immense, as was her fondness for her dog park friends at PVN. Her passion for helping extended to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, where she spent countless hours in service. What mattered most to Linda was making every person feel like they were important.
Linda enjoyed a 61-year marriage with her beloved husband, Billie Leon Cox, who preceded her in death. She leaves behind her daughter, Bilinda Cox Matusek; son-in-law, Brian Matusek; grandson, Matthew Matusek and his wife, Amy Ballanfant Matusek; and grandson, Michael Cox. She is also survived by her brother, Greg Clock, and many beloved extended family members including cousins, nieces, and nephews. Linda's parents, Virgil and Rita Clock, her brother, John Clock, and son, James Cox, have also preceded her in death.
Linda's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and compassion. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all those who were fortunate enough to know her. We invite you to share your memories of Linda and upload photos that celebrate her life on her memorial page. Her legacy of love will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved her.
