Lois Ann Smithey, age 86, passed away at Parkland Memorial Hospital on Friday, May 19, 2023. Born March 5, 1937, in Detroit Michigan, she lived in Austin, then Richardson, and finally in Irving, Texas. She worked most of her life as a buyer for companies such as Texas Instruments, BankTec, and at the time of her retirement at age 79 and 1/2, for Aerospatiale of Grand Prairie. Lois was an avid reader and world traveler. She amassed over one million miles on American Airlines. She often traveled alone, but just as often, took family and friends on new adventures. Services will be held at Aria Cremation Service and Funeral Home located at 1820 N. Beltline Road, Irving, TX 75061 on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 1:30pm. As per her wishes, Lois ashes will be scattered in the ocean surrounding Grand Cayman, where she will be reunited with her husband of 35 years, Paul.
