Lucia Noleka (Davis) Youngblood, 90, was called home by her Savior on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Park N Plano Nursing Home. Noleka was born to Lou Ella and Hartridge Ebenezer Davis of Pooler, GA on March 2, 1932. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1950; and later, obtained her Registered Nursing degree from St Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in 1953.
Noleka was blessed with four children that she raised in Pooler, GA and later relocated to Texas. She always maintained a beautiful home and prepared home cooked meals for her family. Noleka returned to work as a registered nurse once her children were older and she found great honor in serving others through her retirement. Even though she left, Noleka's heart remained in Georgia and she was always studying Savannah history.
Noleka is remembered by those in Pooler as having the best hang out house and she was present for so many who needed her. Those who knew her in Plano will miss her hand-weeded yard and beautiful flower beds that she often tended to for free therapy. Noleka was an avid sports mom as her sons were active in baseball, football, basketball, and track.
Noleka is remembered by her caring spirit and infectious smile. She enjoyed many hobbies including singing, playing the piano, and crafting. She had an extensive collection of her handsewn quilts, none of which ever touched a sewing machine. She made her daughter's clothes as they grew up and she adjusted and patched clothes for her grandchildren in later years. Noleka was seen for years working on crocheted blankets, knitted baby blankets, and her beautiful quilts.
Noleka is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lou Ella Davis, father, Hartridge Ebenezer Davis; brother-in-law, Eugene Howard Walker; son-in-law, Timothy Jerome Walls; and daughter-in-law Deborah Cole Youngblood. She is survived by her adoring sister, Gloria Ann Walker of Waycross, GA; daughters Linda Lou Walls of Winston Salem, NC and Cheryl Jean Moore (Terrence Moore) of Seabrook, TX; sons Ralph Augustus Youngblood III of Plano, TX and Everette Stone Youngblood of Frisco, TX; grandchildren Jennifer Ashley Lambeth (Stephen Lambeth) of Winston Salem, NC, Charles Stanley Ballard III (Nicole Ballard) of Frisco, TX, Jason Anthony Bugna (Christina Black Bugna) of Winston Salem, NC, Chrystel Nicole Matthews of Pearland, TX, Morgan Ashley Hefton (Zachary Hefton) of Sherman, TX; great-grandchildren Eleanor Grae, Stone Patrick, Claire Francis, and Miriam Belle Lambeth of Winston Salem, NC, Lucille Lou and Mathis Graham Bugna of Winston Salem, NC, Olivia Marie, James Robert, and Jennifer May Hefton of Sherman, TX; and a host of cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
