Lucille Smith Clark, also, known as Honey, Aunt Lou, & Maws, marched into heaven on Friday, March 1, 2024. Lucy was 96 years of age and resided at the Bee Hive of Frisco, Texas….which is very fitting as she was the Queen Bee of our family! She was born on October 11, 1927 in Callahan County, TX to her parents: Earl & Lillian Swafford Smith. She grew up with two brothers (Ray & Donald) and 3 sisters (Earlene, Pat, & Marie).
Lucy married James E. Clark on August 24, 1945. Together they resided in Cross Plains, San Angelo, Dallas, Duncanville, Cottonwood, and retired at Lake Granbury, Texas. Lucille was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother who enjoyed and was often seen at sporting events. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan & enjoyed season tickets at the Cotton Bowl and Irving Stadium. Jimmy & Lucy loved spending time with family and enjoyed all of their lake houses. Lucy & Jimmy taught many friends & family to water ski. She had a way of making everyone feel special and welcome. Lucy was always up for jokes, laughter, and antics. During her career, she worked along side her husband, Jimmy Clark, at Southwest Auto Parts on Greenville Avenue in Dallas, Texas.
She was an executive secretary at Executive Aircraft Service & United Coin Company at Red Bird Airport & Signs Now in Arlington, TX. Jimmy & she loved traveling to Hawaii, Europe, Alaskan & Caribbean Cruising. While in their late 50's & early 60's, they took up snow skiing. They enjoyed spending the Christmas holidays with family in New Mexico, Colorado, & Lake Tahoe.
Lucille is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, brothers & sisters.
She is survived by her children: Pamela Clark Hogan (Mike) of Frisco TX, Monica S. Clark of Rockport, TX, & Richard K. Clark (Grace) of Ennis, TX, her grandsons Todd Hogan (Jessica) of Gunter, TX. and Ty Hogan (Katie) of Frisco, TX, her great, granddaughters Blakely Hogan Guedea (Joseph), Brooke Hogan, Alli Hogan & one great, great, grandson Jaxon Guedea. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Operation Kindness, Carrollton, TX or Aransas First Land Trust, Rockport, TX.
Memorial Service to be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 10:15 a.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211. A Celebration of Life & lunch to follow at Abuelos Mexican Restaurant, 1041 W. Interstate 20, Arlington, TX 76017
