Obituary

Born on March 5, 1946, Lue Gregg Loso got his first name from his parents' best friend Lue Hill, who happened to be Ernest Hemingway's bartender. But to friends and colleagues, he was simply known as Gregg.

Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Gregg dearly loved his hometown, where he graduated from Benson High School, home of the Mighty Bunnies. Gregg went from Benson Bunny to Cornhusker when he enrolled at the University of Nebraska. He remained a true-red fan of Nebraska football all his life.

While in Omaha, Gregg discovered his passion for acting. He was a frequent cast member at the Omaha Playhouse, supporting his theatre habit with a day job while still finding time to be the father of two sons.

His move to Dallas in 1978 marked the transition into a successful acting career with The Mary Collins Agency. Gregg loved acting, and acting loved him back. He did it all — theatre, movies, TV, commercials, industrial films, voiceovers, even reading for the blind — and was the go-to guy for Dallas casting directors.

Gregg had many health challenges throughout his life, but he always soldiered on. To quote a lyric from his favorite role as Don Quixote, he "fought the unbeatable foe." He always was an optimist. The sound of his laughter (as well as his beautiful singing voice) is permanently fixed in the minds of family and friends.

Gregg was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin Gregg Loso and Mary Bolen Loso, and his sister Lynda L. Stewart.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda Transou, his son Mark Alan Loso, son Michael Gregg Loso, daughter-in-law Karen Bemben Loso, grandson Harlan Gregg Loso, granddaughter Ruby Sue Loso and his many, many friends.

"See you later, kiddo."
