Obituary

Harrison Lee Major, 73, unexpectedly died on Monday, November 9, 2020, while enjoying a motorcycle ride in Corsicana, Texas. He leaves behind his daughters Jennifer Rasberry and husband Ben, Carrie Dean and Tammie Williams; granddaughters Ashley Jourden and husband Richard, Heather DuShane, and Lindsay DuShane; grandsons Grayson and Easton Rasberry, and two great-grandchildren. He also is survived by his father Cleo Major, sisters Belinda Hammack and husband John, and Kristine Codling; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces. He rejoins his spouse of 30 years, Patty Major who passed in 2009; his son Michael Glen Major who died shortly after birth in 1979; his mother Priscilla Major in 2010, and his brother Marvin Major in 2013. Lee was born in Eureka, Kansas, February 10, 1947, where he lived with his family until they moved to Texas in 1960. He graduated from Irving High School in 1966 and was drafted into the United States Army in 1967. He served as a medic in the Vietnam War for one year. Upon returning home, he found his passion in construction work at Julian P. Barry General Contractor. He continued in construction work with various contractors, becoming a construction superintendent. He retired from the construction business in 2018 with the company he started with. If you knew Lee, you might have known him as the "Six Dollar Man" (a play on words from the television show "The Six Million Dollar Man," starring the famous actor Lee Majors). Whether you knew Lee or were a stranger, he was always the life of the party and always up to some type of antics that kept people laughing. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He loved the time he spent hunting and fishing with his friends for the last 20 years. He loved his family, being around people, and of course riding his motorcycle. He was a heart transplant recipient January 20, 2010, which blessed all of us with 10 extra years to enjoy with him. He brought a smile to every crowd and always lived life to the fullest. Lee's laughter, jokes, and smile will be greatly missed! He will be interned at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 1-2:30pm for the Visitation and the Funeral Service will be held from 2:30-3:30pm at North Dallas Funeral Home Chapel located at 2710 Valley View Lane, Dallas, Texas 75234.
