Obituary

Margaret Ann Fowler Johnson, aged 76, passed away on July 10, 2024, after a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer. She departed peacefully at the family home in Plano, Texas surrounded by loved ones.

Born on February 3, 1948, Margaret Ann Fowler Johnson touched the lives of those around her with her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Despite facing the challenges of her illness, she remained a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her. Margaret played the trumpet for 6 years in the Osawatomie KS high school band. She majored in Business at the University of Kansas, graduating in 1970. She worked as a buyer of women's fashions at Rothschild's, documents editor at Black and Veatch Engineering, and a webmaster at Electronic Data Systems (EDS). She also volunteered extensively for her children's sports teams, schools and Girl Scouts. Following retirement, she worked at various fabric positions at Hancock Fabrics, JoAnn Fabric and Crafts, and Hobby Lobby.

Throughout her life, Margaret Ann Fowler Johnson embodied kindness and compassion. Her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of friends and family alike. Her gifts of magical fabric creations, beautiful and luscious pies, and careful editing of family documents and recipes will be cherished by all who had the privilege of sharing in her journey.

Margaret Ann Fowler Johnson is survived by her loving family, including her twin sister, Martha Breckinridge of Overland Park KS, daughter Margie Riddell of Plano, son Clay Sutton of Plano, son C J Sutton of Chicago, husband David Johnson, 4 grandchildren, and her beloved dog Gunnar and elegant tuxedo cat Reggie. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her strength will continue to inspire generations to come.

A celebration of Margaret Ann Fowler Johnson's life will be held at 2pm on July 24th at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano. A burial service will be held July 20 at the Paola KS Cemetery for family members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers in Margaret Ann Fowler Johnson's honor.

May Margaret rest in eternal peace, free from pain, and may she be remembered for the love and light she brought into the lives of others.
