Mark Davis Bivins, 69, passed away peacefully, in Mount Pleasant, Texas on November 9, 2022. To be with his Lord and Savior. Mark was born on June 20, 1953, in Austin, Texas to J. C. Bivins and Marchetta June Bivins. Mark was preceded in death by his loving parents J. C. and Marchetta June Bivins. Grandmother Leola Bennett. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephew, niece, and friends. Mark is Lovingly remembered and survived by his brother James Bivins, wife Paula. Sister Kim Townsend, husband Steve. Brother Terry Bivins, wife Jan. Aunt, uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Mark lived in many places in Texas: Austin, Odessa, Longview, Mineola, Tyler, and Mount Pleasant to name a few. Mark worked at Wayside Radiator in Odessa for many years. Mark was good at many things: radiator repair, motorcycle repair, vehicle and motorcycle restoration, bodywork, painting, custom paint graphics, welding, trailer repair and construction, carpentry, cooking, barbecuing, smoking meats and many other things. Mark Loved God his Lord and Savior. His favorite Bible verse was John 3:16. For God so Loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Everyones favorite memory of Mark is going fishing with Mark, his dad, brothers, sister, uncles, aunts, cousins, family, and friends. Mark was a fearless, backwoods hillbilly. Mark loved the simple life and simple things, rolling his own cigarettes and he had to have a Zippo lighter. Mark was unapologetically himself, always a kid at heart, he had a long bushy mustache, outlaw rebel spirit. Mark loved old Westerns, old movies, old TV shows, and music. Give him a fishing pole, bait, tobacco, rolling papers, Zippo lighter, a bottle on a backwoods lake or river, and you would not find a happier man. Marks favorite sayings: "Happier than a pig, in a mud hole." "I am just a Dinosaur." "You wouldnt be happy if you were hung with a new rope." Mark loved God, family, and friends. Mark would give anyone the shirt off his back and yours. Mark loved taking and teaching nieces, nephews, and anyone who wanted to learn how to fish, how to clean and cook fish or anything else he knew how to do. Catching, cleaning, and cooking fresh caught fish on the bank with Mark was the BEST time ever. Most definitely the BEST MEAL you would ever eat anywhere or anytime. Mark loved music of all kinds, Rock, Country, Blues, etc., collecting records, he knew songs, artists, played guitar. Mark was very artistic; he loved to draw and paint. Mark saw beauty in everything and everyone. Mark enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, living off the land, cooking, barbecuing, smoking meat, and canning. Mark enjoyed traveling and seeing our Beautiful Country, even hitch hiking and picking crops along the way in his younger years. Mark loved meeting and getting to know people, he never met a stranger. Mark loved spending time with family, friends, all kinds of people, animals enjoying talking, telling jokes, tall tales, laughing, listening to, and playing music, cooking, working on something, building something, repairing something, or just relaxing, listening to music, enjoying nature, watching old westerns. Thank you to ALL the people that knew, enjoyed, and cared for Mark. All his family and friends. All his caregivers, especially Aretha. Mount Pleasant Emergency Services, Police and Sheriff Departments, Titus Regional Medical Center staff, nurses, and doctors. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
