Mark Craig Briley, most recently of Plano, Tx, passed away on June 12, 2022 after a courageous effort to come back from a traumatic brain injury. Mark was born on Nov. 1, 1955 in Izmir, Turkey. In his growing up years, his family lived in most of the southeastern states and overseas as Mark's father served in the U.S. A.F. as an officer and pilot. Mark attended Louisiana State University and was on the LSU track team. He then graduated from North Carolina State University in 1978 and pursued a career that included setting up wellness centers throughout the western U.S.. He also spent many years in Colorado volunteering as a track and field coach working with countless students around health and exercise science. He was a blessing to so many. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, James L. Briley (father-decd. 1975), Willard Emmons (step-father-decd. 2011) and Mary Ann Briley Emmons (mother-decd. 2019). He was very proud of his large extended family John Furlow Sr., Martia Furlow (decd. 2017), John and Missy Furlow, Jim and Lynn Russell, Tim and Gennie Noe, Michelle Furlow, Trent and Julie Lyons as well as many nieces and nephews and a few great nieces and nephews. Mark is also survived by his sister, Deborah Briley Burris (Tim) and their children Christine, Briley, Mollie and Andrew (and grandchildren Luna & Aurora) and T.J.. And, most importantly his wife, Lisa Furlow Briley, who was the love of his life and he the love of hers. He lived a good life filled with love and wonder and led by curiosity.
