Martha Ann Johnson Busbice was born August 7, 1957, in Tokyo, Japan. She grew up in Wheatridge, CO and graduated from Jefferson High School in Edgewater, CO. In 1981 she moved to Dallas, TX and married, made many lifelong friendships, and maintained close relationships with all her former in-laws, cherishing all of them for the rest of her life. Martha's 27-year professional career was with Coinmach, setting up washer and dryer leases at apartment complexes all over Texas. Martha was a true volunteer and supporter of the multi-Family industry. She held numerous committee chairmanships at Apartment Association of Greater Dallas, Texas Apartment Association and Apartment Association of Tarrant County, and was a recipient of the prestigious Olin Steele Lifetime Award, from the Texas Apartment Association; the highest honor given to a Product Services person. Martha never met a stranger. She was warm and friendly to everyone and generous to a fault. She'll be remembered for her great personality and infectious laughter. It was so inviting people naturally gravitated to her. She lived life to the fullest, on her own terms, and made no excuses for it. Her attitude in all matters was to have a good time, even when she was diagnosed with a debilitating liver disease. Starting this year, her liver disease went into overdrive and ended her precious life on July 22, 2022. Martha is survived by her sisters Winifred E. Corazao (Miguel) and Jina M. Johnson and brother Robert D. Johnson (Pam) and nieces Caitlin Gills (Chad) and Rebecca Johnson, as well as many cousins and a beloved Aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Lorraine Johnson and her former mother-in-law Juanita Busbice. The family will hold a Celebration of Life in a couple months. Check back on this site soon for date and location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Martha's name to the wonderful, loving and hardworking people who cared for her in her last days.
