Marvin Leon (M.L.) Baker a.k.a. Corky, Sr.81, of Coppell Texas passed away on April 22,2018.
The funeral service will be held at Ringgold, Texas Chaplin Angie Campbell will be officiating. Graveside service will be held at the Ringgold Cemetery at 12 Noon. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Gateway Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas.
Marvin was born in Longview Texas on July 09, 1936. He graduated from Gladewater High School in Gladewater Texas and continued on to receive a B.A. in Chemistry, Minor in Geology, from Texas Technological University in 1960.
Marvin was married to Patricia March 1991, and they were married nineteen years.
Marvin worked as a engineer for Halliburton for 18 years, then formed his own oil and gas company. He enjoyed golf and oil-field related matters. He was also actively involved on the Board of Directors for LABCO between 1969-1971, and held many other professional responsibilities and civic duties. Marvin was a hunter and fishing enthusiast, and enjoyed his time outdoors.
Marvin is survived by his daughter Dianna and husband Kevin Dougherty, granddaughters Victoria Hopkins, Rebecca Hopkins, step-grandsons Mason Dougherty and Andrew Dougherty, step-brother Cole Patterson, niece Anne McLaughlin.
Marvin is preceded in death by wife Patricia, mother and father Mr. and Mrs. John D. Baker, sister Margaret Korioth, step-brother John D. Baker, Jr., two sons Stephen Baker, Marvin (Butch) Baker, Jr.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
