Obituary

Mary Blatney was born on December 30, 1947 in Corpus Christi, TX and was called to her Heavenly Home, to be with our Lord on April 27, 2023. Mary loved the Lord with all her heart and was a faithful Christ follower, spending time sharing the gospel and the goodness of the Lord with everyone she met. Mary was a prayer warrior and could be counted on to intercede with prayers anytime day or night. Mary believed in the power of prayer, encouraging all around her to trust in the Lord and to listen for His direction. Mary spent most of her life in both the Dallas and Houston areas, raising her family primarily as a stay-at-home mom. Mary also earned her Real Estate Broker license. She was happiest spending time with her family gathered around, to enjoy her homemade enchiladas, chorizo, chocolate cake and sweet tea! Mary loved her family and was known for her extraordinary generosity and giving spirit. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Blatney, her parents Robert and Sulema Gonzalez, her sister Minerva Oliver, and nephew Joe Gonzalez, Jr. She is survived by her five loving children and twelve grandchildren: Gina Sapp and her husband Warren (Jonathan), Michelle Tidwell and her husband David (Presley, Christian), Marcus Granado (Nikki, Gabriel, Destind, Trustin), Melissa Strickland and her husband Chad (Camryn, Madison, Chloe), Rita Gentile and her husband Diego (Isabella, Sofia). Marys passing also leaves behind her six siblings to carry on her love: Yolanda Luna, Irma Caldwell (Dana), Carolyn Kelsey (Chris), Robert Gonzales Jr. (Debi), Linda Lopez (Tony), Joe Gonzalez (Linda), along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mary touched the lives of everyone she met and her love of the Lord was felt by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memoriam to Marys favorite Christian worship program: https://www.jsm.org/ Marys FAVORITE Bible verse, shared, proclaimed, repeated countless times: Isaiah 54:17 "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD." Mary Blatney Celebration of Life Service May 4th Thursdsay 1PM CT sharp.
