Maudine Eloise Carey passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 12, 2019 in an assisted living home in Plano Texas.
Born in Bonham Texas in 1933, Maudine leaves behind a loving husband of 58 years, Lieutenant General Richard Edward Carey USMC retired, along with children William and Julie Carey, Paul and Cindy Carey, Bob and Janet Carey, Tamara and Jan Solum, and sons M. Scott, and Michael Ramsey. She was predeceased by her youngest daughter Melody. She is survived by grand and great grandchildren Mindy, Brittany, Tabatha, Robert, Amy, Cole, Paul Eugene, Kristin, Gabriel, Michael, Grayson, Eden, Hudson, and Justice.
Maudine, nicknamed Dena, a pure stature of a woman; had the smile of a Princess, the grace of a Queen, and a laugh that could melt a King. Dena was a perfect wife with style and finesse, not only in her flawless wardrobes but also in her home. As a military wife, she could throw the parties of all parties and be the belle of the ball at the same time. She stood fierce and strong behind her husband and supported his 38 years in the Marine Corps. She raised and nurtured seven successful children all could not have asked for a better mother and best friend. Her love of dancing, golf, homemaking, travel, and storytelling left you eager to be around her. Her Loving soul, generosity, and true compassion for people and family was her trademark.
Dena fell ill with Alzheimer's disease over 14 years ago and slowly left us with pure Grace and selfless bravery.
Outstanding wife, mother, grandmother, and friend with a golden heart, has left our hearts broken. God proved to us that he only takes the best!
Funeral services will be held at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W. Park Blvd., Plano, TX 75093 on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 9:15am in the chapel, with funeral procession to Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery to immediately follow.
Flowers can be sent to the Prestonwood Church Chapel at 8AM to 9AM Tuesday, June 18th. If you prefer, in lieu of flowers, the family ask that you please donate to the Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation, ARPF, 11901 E. Coronado Rd., Tucson, AZ 85749.
