Dr. Raggon L. Mayer died on June 5, 2013, at home with his family close by. There will be a family service at the DFW National Cemetery. Dr. Mayer graduated from Baylor Dental College of Dallas and served five years in the Air Force. He left the Air Force as a captain and began his dental practice in Dallas in 1965. He enjoyed reading, flying gliders, skeet shooting, hiking, traveling and playing golf. He was also a lifelong runner and went to Oklahoma State University on a track scholarship. He married Sue Hix in September of 1971. He is survived by his wife and two children, Jennifer and Steven, a brother, Charles Mayer, and wife, Susan; and numerous cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Texas Food Bank or to the SPCA of Texas.
