Obituary

James Bruce McCrum II, age 86, died at his home in Rowlett Texas on September 18th, 2019 of natural causes. He was born May 1st, 1933 in Thief River Falls. After coming back from the Navy, Jamie had the opportunity to own a U-haul franchise; he went on to be a top 100 U-haul Dealer for decades until retiring years ago. Jamie was a member of the American Legion, was a veteran of the U.S.Navy, and called himself Lutheran sometimes on Holidays. Jamie was a man who lived his whole life like he would never see 40, and outlived almost all of his friends. He is a memorable person and liked to make people laugh. He heavily associated with being a veteran, and loved three things the most in his later years, Cats, Carson, and Cigars. Most people know Jamie as a guy you see for 20 minutes and he told two jokes, got a cup of coffee, ate some of whatever your having, then ran off to take a nap. The others that know him longer know to add a few drinks before the coffee. He had a close circle of people he trusted and would do anything for and help with side projects. He spoke about helping Gwen for yummy treats and bringing yummy treats to Thurman. He made fun of everyone else. He never judged anyone, and anyone in his inner circle knew that he was a storyteller of the highest order. Jamie had the ability to spark even an adults imagination with storytelling, Survivors include: His son, James III "Jay" His sister Marilyn Brown-and his Brother Robert McCrum.
