Tipton F. McCubbins was born to Clarence and Juanita McCubbins in Enid, OK on July 9, 1944. He died May 28, 2018 in Fairview, TX. He is survived by his wife, Stefanie, his stepson, Wolf, his brother Phillip (Winston), his sister Rilla and her family, Marvin, Anne, Nathania, and Katharine. He was predeceased by his brother Raymond (Chris). He began working on the family farm as a boy. Caring for it and the environment were his lifelong passion. Tipton was broadly educated, having earned an M.Ed. and a J.D. He was equally diverse in his use of knowledge, having taught K-6, practiced law, taught business law at Oklahoma State University, and published scholarly articles in various law journals. His slow drawl and wry humor disguised the energy he had for triathlons, basketball, running, and hiking. He was an avid world traveler, backpacker, naturalist, and a generous environmental philanthropist. His familial memorial service will be held at his beloved Grand Canyon in late summer.
