In Loving Memory of McDonald, Douglas Chaffee (Doug) Born on 9/9/1960 in Fort Leavenworth, KS passing on 7/21/2015 in Plano, TX Dougs achievements were many: He achieved an Electronics degree and served in many Primary Specialties during his Navy-USN career spanning over 21 years retiring as ATC Chief Petty Officer in September 2003. During his Navy career he accomplished the following Primary Specialties: AT-9505 - Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) Instructor E6A In-Flight Technician P-3/EP-3J In-Flight Technician Decorations, Medals, Badges, Citations and Campaign Ribbons Awarded or Authorized: Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3) Navy Good Conduct Medal (5) National Defense Service Medal (2) Navy Unit Commendation, Navy "E" Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation (2) Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2) Expert Rifleman Medal Expert Pistol Shot Medal Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist After retiring from the Navy, Doug joined Boeing Corporation in October 2003 as a Field Service Rep where he worked on various aircraft projects and traveled to many different countries during his career until his untimely death. Doug was a Life Member of Clan Donald, Sons of The American Revolution (SAR) Plano Chapter, and volunteered for years with Golden Retriever Rescue which he enjoyed so much Doug is preceded in death by his Father, Jack and Sister, Kathleen both last residing in St. Simons Island, GA Doug is survived by his Wife, Robin (TX), Sons, Ian (OK) and Bryan (MT), Grandchildren, Jackson, Benjamin and Catie (MT), Mother, Maryalice (GA), Brother, Jeff (OH), Nephew, Colin (CA), Niece, Kaitlin (GA) many friends and colleagues and his beloved Golden Retrievers, Parker and Duke and three cats (Cooper, Missy and Katie) who he loved teaching tricks. There will be two Memorial Services for Doug. August 9th at 12:00 noon CST at Relate Church, 1400 FM 424, Cross Roads, TX This is an informal Memorial. Please come dressed as you like as this is what Doug would have wanted. Following the Memorial, the Navy Honor Guard Ceremony will be held. The Sons of The American Revolution (SAR) Color Guard will also be present to honor Doug. September 5th, 10:30 a.m. EST, family members will gather at his final resting place at Christ Church, Frederica, St. Simons Island, GA Doug will be greatly missed by all that were touched by his love, kindness and friendship.
