Jim was born in Kansas City, MO. He was one of six children born to Edward Jacob and Mary Jane Ward McNamara. During his last year of high school, Jim and a friend went to take a test to win U.S. Naval Academy scholarships. Jim didn't feel quite up to it, as he had been out partying the night before, but the friend convinced him to take the test and then go shoot some pool. Jim and his friend both won scholarships. Jim attended Penn State and earned his degree in advertising. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Jim worked for Darr Equipment in Wichita Falls and Dallas as a general sales manager. He loved his job and excelled in selling Caterpillar equipment. After he retired from Darr Equipment, he began selling antique furniture and art at Lost Antiques in Dallas. He married Marti in 2010 and they were happily married for nine years. He enjoyed living in Dallas because of the wonderful art scene. Jim is survived by his wife, Marti and sister Dolores.
