Our hearts are heavy yet comforted, to share that Missy Orr Croucher went home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, June 1, 2023. There are tears, but they are mostly joyful as she is with Jesus tenderly comforting the longing in our hearts. Missy was born on March 27, 1959, to James Clark Orr and Mary Dame Howell Orr in Memphis, TN. They later moved to Dallas, TX in 1969, the same year the Croucher family moved to Dallas. Missy planted her life and graced her family and friends with her kind heart, bright smile and loving compassion for others. She and on grew up attending Tom C. Gooch Elementary, T.C. Marsh Middle School and they graduated from W.T. High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Donald Eric Croucher, Jr on July 7, 1974. In 1978, Missy married Don, her husband of 44 years, at St. Francis Episcopal Church. Missy's life was not defined by her working life but by the people she created, loved, nurtured, touched, made laugh and smile, helped and lifted up in a fallen world. Her greatest pride and passion was her family; her two daughters, Alexis Nicole born in the summer of 1980 and 12 years later, Victoria Elise born Christmastide in 1992. Missy three grandchildren were an absolute treasure to her! She loved to make her special French toast for them and spend time loving on them! Missy had a smile that lit up any room, had never met a stranger, cared for everyone with the utmost love and compassion and lived by the motto of staying positive and laughing often. Missy is survived by her loving husband Donald Croucher Jr, treasured daughters Alexis "Lexi" Vining and Victoria "Tori" Way; Sons in Law, Josh Vining and Stephen Way, and precious grandchildren, Kaden and Hudson Vining and Karsyn Way. Brother Jimmy Orr and wife, Judy Orr, nieces Cathy Rerich, Donna Brandenberger, and nephews, James Robinson and Jeff Orr; Brother Ken Orr and wife, Diane Orr, niece Jenny Atteberry and nephew Jon Orr, plus a host of other loving extended family members and close friends. Missy is preceded in death by her daddy, James Clark Orr and her mom, Mary Dame Howell Orr. The world is a better place because of her. To know her was to love her and be greatly impacted by her compassion and love. Her smile was contagious. When Missy smiled, you felt it and could not help but feel joy and peace. She always showed kindness and grace to everyone, time spent with her was meaningful and special. Anyone who met Missy, never forgot her. Above all, she loved the Lord and prayed often. A memorial mass and celebration of life will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday July 22, 2023 in the beautiful white chapel of The Church of the Holy Communion 17405 Muirfield Drive, Dallas, TX 75287. While we will all miss sweet Missy beyond what words can say, we rejoice that she is now healed and experiencing "an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison" (2 Corinthians 4:16-18) with her Lord and Savior - and we look forward to one day reuniting with her and so many of our other loved ones.
