Shirley Faye Mitchell of Allen, Texas, passed away June 14, 2013, at the age of 72. She was born June 30, 1940, to Joe Bentley and Faye LaVern (Arnold) Thompson in El Paso, Texas. Shirley married Harold Mitchell on November21, 1956, in El Paso. Harold and Shirley owned and managed Mitchell's Grocery Stores in various Towns in North Texas. She is survived by her husband, Harold Mitchell of Allen, Texas; daughter, Debbie Pearson and husband, Ed, of Pottsboro, Texas; sons, Steve Mitchell and wife, Julia, of Allen, Texas, and Ron Mitchell and wife, Karen, of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Jody Braley, Jason Brown, Ginger Bradley, Zach Mitchell, Rebecca Rodda, Andrew Mitchell, Tobey Pearson, and Jason Pearson; great-grandchildren, Anna Brown, Grace Randall, Juliet Braley, Jaqueline Braley, and Jacob Braley; and sister, JoAnn Ellis of Amarillo, Texas. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Thompson and Faye Miller; and brother, Bobby Joe Thompson. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at North Cities United Pentecostal Church, 502 Beltline Road, Garland, Texas 75040, with Rev. D.G. Hargrove and Rev. Larry Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at our Aria Preston Chapel location, 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, TX 75252.
