Obituary

Molly Anne (Wolford) Hamilton lived a full and fulfilling 88 years. She was born 2/24/1937 in Doylestown, PA, to John W. Wolford and Minnie Irene (Samuels) Wolford and died 6/3/2025 at home (The Tradition) in Dallas, TX. She had two sisters (Barbara - deceased) and Deborah (Lansdale, PA); and one brother, Jack (Parkland, FL). After meeting at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, Molly married Lee Hamilton on 6/27/1959. They were married 52 years before Lee's death in 2012. Upon graduation, Molly was a second-grade teacher then a full-time loving partner to Lee and caregiver for the boys. Son David (wife: Julie) was born in Philadelphia in 1961; Son Bryan (wife: Sandy) was born in Pittsburgh in 1963; and Son Drew (late wife: Susan) was born in Pittsburgh in 1967. As dictated by Lee's career at Exxon, the family was frequently relocated throughout the Northeast US and Texas. She and Lee were world travelers, but bridge and especially tennis were her passions. She attended several tennis 'majors' during Lee's time with the USTA, and she was a sponsor and supporter of the Dallas Challenger at TBarM for years. She had seven grandchildren (Carly, Kelly, Chase, Trevor, Lucy, Jane, Warren) to whom she was affectionately known as Mimi. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 13, at 2:00 pm at Northpark Presbyterian Church in Dallas, with a Celebration of Life to follow at Banner House at TBarM. A special acknowledgement to all the caregivers and other angels who treated her so well in the last 10 months of her life, including, but not limited to, Katherine, Celeste, Jack, Gigi, Talent, Yvonne, and Chow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the National Alliance on Mental Illness or the Stroke Awareness Foundation. Her ashes will be interred at DFW National Cemetery next to Lee.
