Obituary

On Tuesday, November 3rd., 2020, Jessie Fern Moore, loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away at the age of 93. Jessie was born on May 11th, 1927 in Winfield, Kansas to Robert and Edith Stevenson. Her family moved to Dallas when she was nine. She married Walter Moore in 1947, raised four children and spent her entire remaining years in Dallas. She was a woman of many talents. She learned to play the piano when she was young and later became a piano teacher. She also was an avid player and teacher of tennis. Jessie continued playing in tennis leagues until she was 80. She loved gardening, specializing in African Violets and roses. But what made her the happiest were her grandchildren. They loved spending weekends with her while she patiently taught them to play tennis and took them on outings to ice rinks and restaurants. She was a friend to many and will be dearly missed. Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Moore and her son, Charles Moore. She is survived by her sister, Doris Henderson, three of her children, Karen Elaine Vaughn, Bruce Wesley Moore and Kevin Walter Moore. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Aaron Vaughn, Wesley Vaughn, Christopher Moore, Jessica Moore and eight great grandchildren.
