Obituary

Richard "Grant" Morse, 47, of Irving passed away early Sunday morning, July 2, 2017. He is survived by his beautiful daughter Harlee and loving sons Landry and Chase all of Irving. He is also survived by his lovely fianc, Melissa of Irving and his precious mother, Kathy of Grand Prairie. Left to grieve their brother are Lee Galvan of Irving and Jason Petross of Grand Prairie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Although an only child, Grant has a long list of brothers that love, respect and admire him including his FB McIntire brothers. He is preceded in death by his father Richard Glenn Morse and his best friend, partner in crime of all things Dallas Cowboys, Joe Galvan known to all as "Big Joe". Grant is a 1989 graduate of Irving High school where he played Tiger football. He loves his teammates like brothers and enjoys meeting up with them as often as he could, including the "Broken Bow" weekends scheduled for July each year. He also enjoys hosting "HPT poker night" and filling his home with friends and fun spirited competition. Anyone who knows Grant knows that he is an avid Cowboys fan. His home is filled with memorabilia; his guilty pleasures are "game time" rituals and his Facebook is littered with those hilarious, sledge-hammer, opposing team can crushing videos. His love for and loyalty to his Cowboys was shared by his fianc Melissa. Grant had orchestrated and organized a sweet ceremony at Cowboy Stadium in August where he planned to marry his best friend (wearing his Romo jersey) on the Star on the 50 yard line during an intimate gathering of family and friends. His children are the true stars of his world. He is a gentle generous and highly respected father who cherishes his children. He is extremely proud of their accomplishments and loving hearts. He loves to laugh with, tease and joke with them and has provided a strong work ethic for them to live by. Harlee is who she is today because of the unconditional love and support he has given her. Landry is our future sportscaster because of the vast knowledge of the game of football that he inherited from his father. Chase will have the memories of the last year to use as a guide to becoming a man of good will and fantastic character. The family will accept visitors on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM with a Celebration of his life to begin at 1:00 PM Pioneer Drive Baptist, 4034 W. Pioneer Drive, Irving, TX 75061. Grant's wishes were to be cremated and his final resting place will eventually be a niche in Serenity III at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, half way between his father and Big Joe. Grant will be loved and missed by ALL who knew him. Gifts of support for the family can be directed to the Go Fund Me account: https://www.gofundme.com/expenses-for-morse-family GO COWBOYS!!!!!!!
