William "Bill" H. Murphy, age 68, of Dallas, Texas passed away quietly at home with his wife, Grace, by his side just after 12:00 am on May 7, 2014.
Bill's passion for life and joyful spirit were an encouragement to all who had the pleasure to know him. Even through the last few years of living with ALS, he maintained a great joy and love of life. Coming to a renewed faith in Christ in 2011 brought Bill much Peace and Hope. As he grew in his relationship with the Lord, his gratitude for every blessing became even more evident to those of us who walked with him on this journey.
Bill lived a very full life and was a masterful storyteller. In 2013 he started a blog at unbridledlove.org with the intention of providing Hope to others through inspiring stories from his own life. While he had many more stories than he was able to capture in writing, the handful that he published will bless all who take the time to read them. We are thankful for the stories, both written and verbally shared, that will forever be in our hearts.
Bill is survived by his wife, Grace Murphy; sons, Adam, Harrison & Spencer Murphy; daughter, Eryn Murphy; brother, Kevin Jon Murphy of St. Paul, MN; brother, Dennis (& Mary) Murphy of Meridian, ID; uncle, Dr. Robert (& Shirley) Murphy of Quincy, IL.
Bill was a faithful provider for his family and was passionate about ensuring his children's access to higher education. In honor of this passion, Bill's eldest children, Adam & Eryn, had the idea to establish a memorial fund for their two younger siblings. For information about how to contribute to this fund, please contact Bill's brother, Dennis Murphy at (208) 553-5182 or dlmurphy@cableone.net.
An extended reflection and memorial of Bill's life from his birth in 1945 will be added to his blog at www.unbridledlove.org.
