Jo Nell Stubblefield Mynett made her way home to her Lord and Savior and loved ones that went before her on January 6, 2016. She was born on October 1, 1922 in Ellis County, TX to Bill and Willie Stubblefield, the oldest of their four children who grew up cotton farming. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack of 58 years, son Charles, brothers Don and Bill Stubblefield and sister Helen McCauley. Left to miss her greatly are her daughter and son-in-law Judy and Jimmy Ward, various brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many extended family members. Jo graduated from Milford High School in 1940 after which she moved to Dallas to work and loved the city life. In 1944 she applied and was contracted with the U.S. gov't (in a little known program to hire civilians to assist the military) to work in Honolulu during the last year of WWII. At the age of 21 she was assigned to the Signal Corp at Ft. Shafter and was trained to encode and decode military messages alongside regular army personnel. It was at the Signal Corp that she met Jack whom she married in 1946. After devoting her life to raising her children and supporting her husband, Jo returned to work in middle age and continued to work until 2012 when she retired at age 89. People-wise beyond all expectations, she was also humble and unpretentious. She was the glue that held her family together, a constant and an inspiration to all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 on Wednesday January 13, 2016 in McIver Chapel at Wilshire Baptist Church, 4316 Abrams Road, Dallas 75214. The family will greet visitors both before and after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Milford, TX Cemetery Association, P. O.
