Obituary

Nancy R. Basnett, 74, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025. Born on June 28, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nancy lived a life defined by devotion, kindness, and a deep love for her family.

After earning her degree in accounting, Nancy began a long and successful career that spanned more than three decades with Texas Instruments. Following a brief hiatus, she continued her professional journey at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where her diligence and reliability earned her the respect of all who worked alongside her.

Family was always at the heart of Nancy's life. When her parents required care, she selflessly moved into their home to support them through their later years. She extended that same love and dedication to her husband, Brett Basnett, her stepdaughter and grandchildren, and to her siblings—Judy Robinson Jeronimus, John Robinson, and Peggy Robinson Decker—who survive her.

Encouraged by her sister, Nancy explored much of the world and loved sharing stories from her travels. At home, she found joy in the company of her beloved horses and dogs, and she often unwound by watching the Investigative Discovery channel.

Nancy's compassion, loyalty, and sense of duty will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.

One last song tonight by the fireside

One last longing for you lying by my side

Many years have passed since the day we met

Many memories lasting from the day we wed

I'll keep the porch light on as you did for me

You waited up at night till I came home to thee

I remember well the softness in your face

Into my arms you fell until morning's haze

The veil of life separates the one who leaves

We are stranded on this Isle to grieve

Till we meet again upon those distant seas

Stay safe and warm wherever you may be

I'll light a clay oil lamp to keep the memory of

Pray the Lord may grant and welcome you with love

No one can er replace no one will ever be

No other has the face of my dear Nancy
