Nancy Spessard Carman was born on January 16,1942 in Orange, California to Eugene and Lois (Whedbee) Spessard. She graduated Santa Ana High School in 1959. She earned a Bachelor of Education from California State – Long Beach in 1963 and taught school for three years.

She was initiated into the Delta Alpha chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority in 1960 when she started her life-long sister association. She was an alumna member in Southern California, Houston and Dallas, attending State Days and national conventions.

On June 16,1963 she married Dhar Carman and enjoyed 63 years of wedded happiness following Dhar first to Houston then Dallas raising a son Christopher and daughter, Kelli. She took absolute delight in raising her children and adoring her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Dhar and children Christopher Carman (Flower Mound, TX) and Kelli Carman Greer and husband Charles (Corinth, TX); grandchildren Taylor Carman (New York, NY), Hunter Carman (Jacksonville, FL), Delaney Greer and Olivia Greer (Dallas, TX).
