Nancy Jo
Wright
Sep 2, 1933 — Nov 5, 2024
Nancy Jo Wright, 91, passed away on November 5th, 2024, after a long and fulfilling life.
Nancy was born on September 2, 1933, to George and Mary Miller in Dallas, Texas.
She retired from the insurance business at 52. Nancy and Buddy set out to travel around the country in their mobile home, visiting as many places as they could, that was on their bucket list. Nancy was a person who had great love for all her family and friends. She always made sure that the people in her life knew her love and unselfish dedication to care for them in whatever way was needed. One of Nancy's most commendable accomplishments was her service to the Eastern Star from 1956-2024. Throughout her venture in the Eastern Star, she served as Worthy Matron for the Flora Chapter 2005-2006, 2014-2015, and 2019-2020. In addition, she served as Worthy Matron for the Dallas Chapter #1 in 2010-2011. Nancy had a magic touch in the kitchen; she loved cooking for her family, church, and at Eastern Star events; which will be greatly missed. One dish that has not been able to be replicated and will be remembered lovingly by her grandkids was her recipe for biscuits and sausage gravy.
Nancy was preceded in death by husband Buddy Wright; father George Miller; Mother Mary Miller; siblings Charles Miller, Elizabeth Scott, Jack Miller, Virginia Cuthbertson, Sue Compton.
Nancy is survived by son Terry McClendon; daughter Teresa Barrows, daughter-in-law Beverly McClendon; grandchildren Teresa Flores, Chelsea Stephens, Amanda Regalado, Adam Regalado and 6 great grandchildren; brother Ray Miller as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
