Cheryl Anne Nelson (Kullberg), 66, of Dallas, TX ended a long and brave battle with Early Onset Alzheimer's disease on October 17, 2014.
She is survived by her daughter Heidi Longanecker Burton and her husband Brent of Dallas, TX and her son Matthew Luke Longanecker and his wife Carolyn of Salt Lake City, UT as well as her granddaughters Channing Grace and Parker June Burton of Dallas, TX; her loving brothers Eric Kullberg III and his wife Gail of Boonton, NJ, John Kullberg and his wife Maureen and their son Jared of River Vale, NJ, and Douglas Kullberg and his wife Emi of Douglas, MA. Cheryl is also survived by her cousins who loved her dearly..
Cheryl was born in Mount Vernon, NY to a Methodist minister, Reverend Eric Kullberg Jr. and his precious wife Anne. She graduated from high school in Boonton, NJ and went on to study vocal performance at Baldwin Wallace College in Ohio. Cheryl was known for her deep Christian faith and her beautiful singing voice. She was a member of various church congregations and choirs including solo performances with the Garden State Philharmonic Orchestra. She worked as a DJ for KVOP in Plainview, TX and for KJAK in Lubbock, TX, did voice over work for various companies, and worked as a sales associate for True Believer Magazine in Austin, TX. Cheryl also worked as an administrative assistant for Panasonic in CA, Advanced Micro Devices in CA, Specialty Systems in Toms River, NJ and the City of Austin Employees Retirement System in Austin, TX where she ended her working career in 2008.
Cheryl was a gentle soul who drew people to her with her kindness and love. The memory of Cheryl will continue to bless her family and all those who knew her.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 24th at 11:00 am at Skillman Bible Church in Dallas located at 6043 Richmond Ave.
