Howard Lain Oder passed through Heaven's gates on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Howard was preceded in death by Patricia, his wife of 52 years. His mother and father, Louise and R.B. Oder are also deceased. Howard is survived by his daughter, Lisa Galloway, her husband Dan, granddaughters, Maggie and Catie, who were the apple of his eye. He is also survived by his two sisters, Marie and her husband Vaughn Jackson, and Pam and her husband Sam Word, two nieces and two nephews. Howard was born on June 13, 1938 in Cooper, Texas, and grew up in Gladewater, graduating from Gladewater HS and attended East Texas State University. After a lifetime of banking, he retired in 2003 from North Dallas Bank and Trust, doing what he loved best, helping people become successful. Howard was an avid car enthusiast, focusing on repairing and restoring a range of cars but particularly his '57 Plymouth. As much as he loved his cars, his life revolved around Patricia, Lisa, Maggie, Catie and Dan. A memorial service will be held at Preston Road Church of Christ at 3:00 PM, Friday, February 21.
