Marian Louise Hansen Oler, beloved wife, mother, and fiery redhead passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28th at her home in Allen, Texas. She was surrounded by family and loved ones. She is survived by her husband, Kent Oler, their son, Tyler Oler, both of the home, brother, Kelly Hansen (Bernadette) of Claremore, OK, sister, Donna Hansen DeMauro (Nick) of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews, who always received socks and t-shirts from "Auntie Mar" for Christmas. Marian was born in Englewood, California, December 15th, 1961, the youngest of three children of Dean and Velma Jean Hansen. She grew up in Gardena, CA, graduated from North High School in Torrance, CA, received her BA in Finance from Loyola Marymount University and her graduate degree in education from California State University - Long Beach. Marian was an artist, equestrian, musician, seamstress, beach baby, dog lover, and so important to her, an educator. She taught elementary school for 31 years In Garden Grove, CA, Richardson, TX ISD, Shekinah Radiance Academy and Garland ISD. She held a special place in her heart for the students who came to school with fewer resources and greater needs. Her no nonsense, innovative approach and infectious laugh pushed her hundreds of students to be better every day. She loved the finer things in life. Favorite words in her vocabulary were Waterford, Coach, Lalique, Nordstrom and Sees Chocolate. The family home reflects her exquisite and stylish taste. Marian's most precious achievement was her family. Husband, Kent, and son Tyler were her world. One of her dearest home accessories was a decorative tray in the guest room that read, "The favorite thing about my home is the people I share it with." She will be missed beyond what words can express. A celebration of her life will be held at the family home Saturday, April 6th from 1-4pm. (2014 Country Brook, Allen, TX 75002) This casual, come and go affair will feature snacks from her favorite quick serve restaurant, Chick Fil A.
