Patricia “Pat” Ann Yeargan
Mills
Nov 10, 1949 — Jun 26, 2023
With profound sympathy, we acknowledge the transition of Patricia Ann Yeargan Mills (affectionately known as Pat) who peacefully entered eternal rest on June 26, 2023. After living a blessed long life, Pat has looked forward to being with her Lord and Savior. Now she sees Him face to face. Pat was born in Dallas on November 10, 1929 to her beloved parents, Henry Fletcher Yeargan, Jr and Edna Tomlinson Yeargan. Pat grew up in the Park Cities graduating from Highland Park High School. While still in Highland Park, she met Weldon Mills who had just been discharged from the U.S. Navy. They both attended SMU where Pat was a Kappa Alpha Theta. It was soon obvious that they would spend their lives together. They married after a long four years on May 20, 1950 and moved to Houston where they lived for 23 years raising three delightful children. After returning to Dallas, Pat was pleased to become involved the Beta Sigma Chapter of KAƟ at SMU. She was their Alumnae Chapter Adviser for several years and many of the young women became her life-long friends. Always a reader, Pat managed several bookstores including Taylors and the beloved House of Books in Preston Royal, the end of an era for bookstores. The most fun she and Weldon had was moving to Presbyterian Village North in 2010 where Pat was asked to be the Librarian and she was able to organize the lovely Library. The friends she made at PVN, both resident and staff, were a joy. PVN is a true community of loving people. A great way to end ones last days. Her time spent as a member of the Presbyterian Village North Foundation was special because the Foundation has provided many of the best things at PVN. Pat was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Weldon Mills, her dear daughter Cathleen Porter, and her beloved parents. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted sons, Don (Eileen) Mills and Andy (Betty) Mills, her grandchildren, Jason (Mary) Mills with their daughter Lucy, Juliana (Joseph) Picard, Benjamin (Cecilia) Mills with their daughter Joanna, and Jacob Mills. Each one was a blessing to Pats life, and she to theirs. We invite you to celebrate the life of Pat at a Memorial Service that will be held in the Auditorium at Presbyterian Village North, 8600 Skyline Drive on July 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Interment at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Presbyterian Village North Foundations Residents Assistance Fund would be greatly appreciated. We encourage those who had the pleasure of knowing Patricia to share their cherished memories and upload photos of their time with her on the memorial page. These shared experiences will serve as a comforting reminder of the love and joy Patricia brought to those around her. Remembering Patricia "Pat" Mills
