Patricia Romero Willson, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, and lifelong advocate, passed away on December 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Patricia led a life defined by compassion, service, and devotion to her family.

Born on April 28, 1931, in Gary, Indiana, to Margaret and William Romero, Patricia's family soon moved to North Attleboro, Massachusetts, where she grew up. A graduate of Boston University's nursing program, Patricia began her career as a pediatric nurse at Boston Children's Hospital. Her deep passion for helping others led her to Peru, where she joined Project HOPE, an international health and humanitarian organization. It was during her time in Peru that Patricia met the love of her life, John Ward Willson. Together, they built a beautiful life in Santiago, Chile, where they raised their two sons, John Ward Willson Jr. and Joshua Andrew Willson.

In 1972, the family relocated to Dallas, Texas. Patricia continued her service as a nurse with the Dallas County Health Department, focusing on the well-being of children in the Carrollton community. She was particularly dedicated to supporting families affected by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), providing counseling and care during their most difficult times. Patricia's dedication and compassion were recognized upon her retirement in 1996, when the Mayor of Carrollton proclaimed "Patricia Willson Day" and presented her with the key to the city—a testament to her tireless work and the impact she made on the community.

Beyond her professional life, Patricia and her husband John formed a cherished discussion group called Topics II, inspired by a similar group founded by John's father in Reading, Pennsylvania. The group, which fostered thoughtful monthly discussions and lifelong friendships, traveled annually to remarkable destinations, creating unforgettable memories and strengthening their bond.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and William, her brother Bill, her sister Robin, and her beloved husband, John, who passed away in 2012. She is survived by her children, John Ward Willson Jr. and Joshua Andrew Willson; her stepdaughter Glenni Lorick and her husband, Keith; her eight cherished grandchildren: John, Landry, Reid, Jackson, John Carl, Anna, Daniel, and Sarah; and three great-grandchildren: Jackson, Conrad, and Nicholas.

Patricia's legacy is one of kindness, unwavering dedication, and love for her family and community. She touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family will host a celebration of life on February 22 in the DFW area.
