Patricia (Pat) Ann Woodruff Wykes, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother boarded the train to glory at the age of 78 in Richardson, Texas on October 6, 2020.  Pat was born on February 16, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee to Leon and Virginia Woodruff.  She grew up in the Memphis area, attended college at Freed Hardeman College, and then at Harding University.

While home from college her mother introduced her to a young sailor & soon two hearts became one.  She and Bob were married in 1963 and over the next 57 years were blessed with 4 daughters, 8 grandchildren, and more dogs than you could count (not all at one time, though).  Pat's greatest joy was her family.

Upon retirement, Pat pounced on her passion for pups.  Joining the Richardson Humane Society at its inception, she became president in 2005 and held that position until 2018.  She was a fierce advocate for the tail-waggers she served and cared for and brought love and "forever homes" to thousands of dogs and cats.  In addition to her volunteer work with RHS, she also loved sewing and would spend countless hours using her extraordinary sewing skills to lovingly create baby doll couture to give to children at Christmas.  She also loved making wedding dresses for her daughters.

She will be remembered for her tenacity, sharp wit, huge heart, love of family and friends, and eagerness to always lend a hand when it was needed.

Pat was preceded in death by her father Leon Woodruff, and her mother Virginia Arnett.  She is survived by her husband Bob Wykes; her children Cynthia and husband Mike, Sheri and husband Drake, Shannon and husband Jerremy, and Robin and husband James; as well as her 8 grandchildren.
