On Tuesday evening April 9, Ruth Carol Patrk passed away peacefully on to heaven. A native New Yorker, Ruth loved all things New York and adored her hometown, despite living the last 40 years here in Dallas. She was an amazing leader, spiritual force and guide for so many. Selfless in her desire to help others in need - many times at the expense of her own happiness. She found great meaning, purpose and joy in assisting others on their journeys. She was tireless in her efforts to help others to find their way. Friends came to know that they could reach out at all hours of the day, or to expect a call in the wee hours. As a traditionalist, she was a huge fan of the rotary dial phone. She proved to be a wonderful contradiction - Ruth loved to talk with friends or strangers and yet could be trusted with any secret. She was intensely private and amazingly social. She shunned material items, yet was an avid collector. Throughout her life, her most prized possessions were her family and friends, no one more so than husband Peter, who preceded her in death in 2007. She is survived by daughters Debbie Vinyard and husband, Randy of Tulsa and Susan Hall and husband, Mark of Dallas. Grandsons Nicholas and Daniel Vinyard, Jack and Chester Hall and granddaughter Molly Hall. And her beloved brother Bruce Morrell of New York. She shared a special bond with "surrogate" daughter Lisa and dear friends Bonnie and Valerie. Her daughters are eternally grateful for the amazing effort and care she received from the loving and patient staff at Presbyterian Village North. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 15 at 1:00 P.M. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Plano. Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service and Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75252 (214)306-6700
