Elmer F. "Pete" Peterson (89) of Plano, Texas passed away peacefully on January 15, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Pauline, whom he met on a blind date in Alexandria, Louisiana. He is also survived by his daughter, Susan Lee of Coppell, Texas and her husband Bill, son, Michael Peterson of Bacliff, Texas and his wife Gloria, and daughter, Kathleen Peterson of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Aaron Lee and wife Katie, Isaac Lee, Sara Peterson-Smith, and Christopher Peterson-Godfrey. Pete served with the Army Air Corps during World War II and afterwards completed a distinguished career as Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. After retiring from active service with the Air Force, he embarked on a second career as an insurance auditor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Aria Funeral Home, 19310 Preston Rd., Dallas, TX 75252. Interment will follow at 2:00PM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project .
