Betty Lou (Foley) Peterson of Lago Vista, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in Dallas, Texas surrounded by her family. Betty was born on December 28, 1933 in Pasadena, California to Elva and Lois Foley. She graduated from John Muir High School and spent her early years in southern California. Betty was married on February 5, 1954 to Neil Peterson and they enjoyed forty-six years together. Neil's work took them to Desert Shores, California (The Riviera of the 50's), Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Austin, Texas, before settling in Lago Vista. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil, on May 1, 2000.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Elayne Kaufman and her husband Patton of Belton, Susan Bradley and her husband Charles of Dallas; four granddaughters, Carolyn Jackson and her husband Kyle of Tyler, Catherine Kaufman and her fianc Marquis Garrett, Lisa Bradley, and Amy Burns and her husband Michael all of Dallas; two great grandchildren, Clifton and Camryn Jackson of Tyler.

A celebration of Betty's life will take place Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:00 am The Grille at Highland Lakes 20552 Highland Lakes Drive, Lago Vista, TX In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 12467 Merit Drive, Dallas, Texas 75251.
