Obituary

Charles "Chuck" O'dell Phelan, 70, of Sachse, TX passed away on Thursday, February 15. He was born on July 8, 1947 to the late Tracy O'dell and Nina Mae Phelan in Wenatchee, WA. Chuck graduated from Eastmont High School in East Wenatchee, WA. A few years later, he enlisted into the armed forces and served as an Ordnance Mechanic in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He received a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars and a Republic Vietnam Campaign Medal. After receiving an honorable discharge, Chuck pursued a career as a Carpenter. He moved to Texas in the early 1980's and started a family. Chuck loved to be outside, going to the lake, camping, barbecuing, had a passion for movies and music and never knew a stranger. He took great pride in his sons and their families, and had a special place in his heart for his sister. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Glenn, Jim and Ricky, and daughter Katy. He is survived by his sister, Diane Jones, sons and their wives, Rick and Annie Phelan of Sachse, TX and Kyle and Olivia Phelan of Houston, TX, his grandchildren, Todd (25), Audra (19), Kirsten (16), Ellie (8), Emmy (5) and Haven (4), a nephew and three nieces.
